Now there will be an opportunity to try out a completely new and different cultural sensory and knowledge experience. Now you can experience the exclusive gourmet dinners 'Til bords med', where history and food together will intoxicate the senses.

Museum curator and food historian Bettina Buhl from The Green Museum has put together the menus, and for the first event, a 4-course historical treat awaits, where guests will dine with Hans Christian Andersen.

HC Andersen (1805-1875) loved food and drink. He often recounts good and less good dinners in his letters and diaries. Several of his fairy tales also mention specific meals served, both at the "high" and the "low" levels of 19th-century Danish society.

Bettina Buhl will take the participants back to the time of Hans Christian Andersen. We will be served several of the dishes that we know the famous poet enjoyed. We will meet the poet in his hometown of Odense, and follow his visits among the country's elite in large cities and at several famous manors. Along the way, selected relevant fragments of the texts where Mr. Andersen has written about food and meals will be read out.

"The experience must be unique, and therefore the servings are carefully selected. The 4 servings with accompanying ingredients contain exciting cultural history - we come across some of the great Danish personalities; and learn more about them and not least their relationship to the food and raw materials of the time. I am delighted to be collaborating with the chefs at Den gamle Stald, and I will do my part to ensure that the combination of Danish food history and Danish gastronomy gives the guests a wonderful evening", explains Bettina Buhl.
