'THE MOVE' is the first in a series of new exhibitions at The Green Museum, which show how humans live and have lived in interaction with nature

NEW EXHIBITION "MOVES IN" AT THE GREEN MUSEUM

THE MOVEMENT is a different, raw exhibition where the audience can experience the first of the former Hunting and Forestry Museum "moving into" the Green Museum.

Two 20-foot freight containers and a large number of Euro pallets form the framework for THE MOVEMENT, which presents hunting and forestry at the museum in East Jutland for the first time, but the exhibition also tells the story of the work of moving over 20,000 museum objects. A work that is in full swing after the Danish Hunting and Forestry Museum and the Danish Agricultural Museum merged on January 1, 2017.

THE MOVEMENT is an appetizer for what guests can experience at The Green Museum in the coming years. A taste of some of the most interesting, beautiful, strange, scary, sweet and thought-provoking objects from the world of hunting and the forest, which we look forward to exhibiting in the upcoming basic exhibitions.

Stuffed animals, hunting weapons, chainsaws, glass jars with animals and plants, tools from the forest and a container full of trophies are among the treasures FLYTNINGEN contains. Traces of royal hunts, beach hunting by ordinary people, a little bit from when we last had wolves, backpacks for poisonous things and probably the museum's oldest object are also included.

The exhibition design shows without words how we pack and move the objects from Hørsholm to the new museum: Pallet after pallet is packed with objects that are carefully secured with cotton ribbons and plastic strips and lined with tissue paper and sheet canvas, so that nothing is damaged along the way.

THE MOVEMENT is the first in a series of new exhibitions at The Green Museum, which show how humans live and have lived in interaction with nature when we hunt, sow, harvest and pick – all while being largely subject to nature's conditions.
