Forest history double lecture with Bo Fritz books

4 March 2025 / 19:00 - 21:00

125kr.

Look forward to an inspiring evening when The Green Museum in collaboration with the Forest History Society welcomes you to a double lecture with forest and landscape historian, associate professor, Dr.phil. Bo Fritzbøger from the University of Copenhagen. On one and the same evening you will receive two exciting lectures about the development of the Danish forest:

  1. Müller, Prytz and Oppermann – The modern breakthrough in Danish forestry around 1870-1920
Hear about three significant personalities who each shaped the development of forestry in Denmark at a time when new ideas and techniques were making inroads. This part of the evening is based on brand new research that will be published soon.
  2. Afforestation in a historical perspective
Denmark's upcoming afforestation of 250,000 hectares raises many questions. In this lecture, Bo Fritzbøger looks back in history and shows how afforestation has shaped the Danish landscape in the past – and what we can learn from it as we look forward.

Along the way we offer coffee/tea, water and cake, so there is room for both knowledge and coziness. The evening's lecture will take place at Det Grønne Museum, Randersvej 4, 8963 Auning, from 7 pm to approx. 9 pm.
