Easter holiday
The Green Museum invites the whole family to an Easter holiday full of activities from April 12 to 21. This year, Easter at the museum is all about sheep and wool. Guests will have the opportunity to get their hands on the wool themselves when we open a felting workshop filled with wool from the museum's own sheep.
The sheep is one of the first domesticated animals, and was indispensable because it could provide meat, milk and wool – and this year the sheep has been given the main role in the Easter activities at The Green Museum. Every day, guests will be able to card and felt their own works of art from the wool from the museum's sheep in the museum's felting workshop. The museum has three breeds of sheep, which you can of course visit in the barn. Who knows, maybe you can recognize the very sheep that provided the wool for your own felted masterpiece.
Spring activities for the whole family
Easter is a great opportunity to bring the family together for new and educational experiences. The Green Museum has a wealth of exciting exhibitions about hunting, forests, agriculture and food, which everyone can explore on their own. The whole family can unleash their creativity with wool, and the children can complete the activity booklet “Sheep sheep sheep?” and thus participate in the Easter competition.
Chickens in the 'Glen'
Once again this year, families can visit the chickens in the museum's indoor area, 'Lysningen'. Here, families can take a break, let the children see the small, fluffy chickens up close and possibly enjoy a packed lunch. 'Lysning' is a cozy oasis in the middle of the museum, where you can always rest your legs, let the children recharge their batteries and soak up the Easter spirit at the same time.
Visit the restaurant – or bring your own packed lunch
If you get hungry, restaurant Den Gamle Stald offers delicious lunch dishes inspired by the museum's focus on Danish produce. You are also welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it in the indoor and outdoor seating areas.
