The popular exhibition 'STORT – Man and the Forest' reopens on Saturday, October 15th in new premises and with a new indoor archery range; it will be open during the autumn holidays.
But it is just one of several exciting initiatives during an autumn holiday that takes place in the museum's beautiful and meditative 'indoor forest' - which will be filled with exciting knowledge and experiences about hunting that can be experienced and enjoyed by both children and adults.
10,000 years of hunting
Three times every day during the autumn holidays, it will be possible to join a fascinating journey through the history of hunting. Through 10 selected objects, one of the museum's hunting experts will take the guests 'by the hand' and lead them through a 20-minute storytelling experience about 10,000 years of wild hunting history. These 10 fantastic things, which the museum's employees have found from archives and magazines, each shed their own unique and special light on the history of hunting.
It will also be possible to learn more about the noble art and history of smoking when the museum serves up a delicious smoked game sausage, which visitors will have the opportunity to taste.
In addition, you can also participate in a quiz about hunting during the autumn holidays; and who knows, you might even be the lucky winner of a prize from the museum shop.
Activity package
Perhaps the biggest attraction during the autumn holidays at the Green Museum will probably be the museum's activity package. For the modest sum of 40 kroner you can buy a real arrow. With that arrow it will also be possible to participate in the arrow workshop, where you can decorate and mark your own arrow with a pattern of your choice, which makes the arrow completely unique. After that, you can take the arrow with you to the new indoor archery range and try shooting and see if you can hit a deer with a bow and arrow. Of course, you get to take the arrow home with you afterwards.

During the autumn holidays you can crest your real willow.
BIG version 2.0
It is also during the autumn holidays that the museum reopens the exhibition STORT. The exhibition has moved and is now in new premises. And in this connection, the exhibition has also been optimized, which now includes some completely new objects and thus also new knowledge and new stories.
But the audience favorite, the beautiful indoor forest sky, is still the largest part of the exhibition and can be enjoyed with both eyes and ears – and now even while dressed as a forest worker.
Experience two museums for the price of one
The Green Museum has joint ticket sales with the neighboring museum Gammel Estrup Danmarks Herregårdsmuseum. This means that as a guest you get access to both museums when you have purchased an admission ticket. It still only costs 120,- to enter the two museums for adults, and young people under 18 have free admission. Both museums are open every day during the autumn holidays from 10 am to 5 pm.
