This Living Saturday there is free admission!
As the day coincides with this year's ELRO Day, thanks to support from the ELRO Foundation, there is free admission to both the Green Museum and our Living Saturday, as well as the Gammel Estrup Denmark Manor Museum.
When we hold Living Saturday, history moves out of the display cases. The museum's volunteers go into the workshops, light the fires, take out the tools and demonstrate crafts, cooking and working methods from earlier times. And this Saturday there is extra to experience: All 13 of the museum's volunteer guilds are in action.
The apple is the common thread
September is apple month at The Green Museum, and you can feel it in the day's activities. The apple appears in everything from food and dairy products to must - and in several places you can get involved yourself.
Join the Gardeners' Guild in pressing apples into juice, make your own apple slice with the Food Guild, or taste apple bacon at the Butchers' Guild. At the Dairy Guild, you can try yogurt with apple-cinnamon compote, among other things.
But apples are not the only thing on the program. Around the museum you can meet all 13 volunteer guilds, get up close to old crafts and working methods, and have a chat with the volunteers about their knowledge and skills.
You can experience that.
