Autumn holiday in the spirit of hunting

One of the museum's guests examines where the arrows hit on the indoor archery range.
Whether you are a child or an adult, there are countless opportunities for fun activities and fascinating experiences on the program – which also features a brand new Storm P. hunting exhibition.
This year, the focus during the autumn holidays is on hunting, and the museum invites you in with a number of fantastic activities in and around the popular exhibition 'STORT – man and the forest'.
As part of the museum's activity package, visitors will have the opportunity to try out the indoor archery range, which is open throughout the autumn holidays in the exhibition 'STORT'. But that's just one of the many exciting activities that await in the museum's beautiful and meditative 'indoor forest', filled with knowledge and experiences about hunting that both children and adults can enjoy.
Storm P and the hunt
In the special exhibition "Hunting with Storm P.", which opens with the autumn holidays, we show the museum's unique series of Storm P.'s works.
A very special series of illustrations with recommended precautions for hunters. They were made as an educational campaign in two stages, first in the 1930s and later in 1947.
These two campaigns contained 15 quirky illustrations. The museum has 14 of these illustrations. However, the fifteenth was stolen all the way back in 1950; and that is why we also need help – so we have created a small workspace at the museum where you can draw your own version of the missing illustration.
Meet the museum's experts and volunteers
Every day during the autumn holidays, visitors can meet the museum's dedicated employees and volunteers, who are ready with fun activities, exciting stories and tastings for the enjoyment of the museum's guests.
In addition, there is also a brand new hunting tower in front of the museum, where children can try to see it all from above. Furthermore, there is a special 'hunting activity booklet', with fun and fascinating tasks and reflections, which can, for example, be done under the atmospheric forest sky in the exhibition STORT.
You can read more about what happens on each day below. 'it happens' (calendar).

Activity package and unique arrow workshop
The museum's most popular attraction during the autumn holidays is the exciting activity package. For just 35 kroner, guests can buy a real arrow and participate in the arrow workshop. Here you have the opportunity to decorate and mark your own arrow with a pattern of your choice, making the arrow completely unique. Afterwards, you can test your arrow and your own skills on the new indoor archery range and see if you can hit a deer with a bow and arrow. The arrows can of course be taken home as a fun souvenir.
Two museums for one price
The Green Museum has joint ticket sales with the neighboring museum Gammel Estrup Danmarks Herregårdsmuseum. This means that visitors have access to both museums when they buy an admission ticket. The price for adults is only 140 kroner, and young people under 18 have free admission. Both museums are open every day during the autumn holidays from 10:00 to 17:00.
