Wild autumn holiday at the Green Museum

The opportunity to try your hand at a bow and arrow is popular with museum guests of all ages.
During the autumn holidays, the Green Museum on Djursland offers a number of activities focusing on hunting. Children and adults can try out a bow and arrow and learn about the history of hunting in Denmark.
In week 42, The Green Museum offers a number of activities for both children and adults. The focus is on the history of hunting, and it will be possible to experience the museum's exhibitions and meet some of the museum's committed volunteers. The week is planned with the specific aim of giving families a shared experience where learning and play are combined.
Decorate and shoot with a bow and arrow
With the museum's popular activity package for 30 kroner, children can decorate their own arrow and then try it out on the museum's indoor archery range. The activity package allows for both creative expression and fun competition, where children can compete to hit the target with a bow and arrow. The arrows can be taken home as a souvenir from the day.
Focus on the history of hunting and the forest
The museum also offers exhibitions that focus on how the forest and hunting have played a central role in human history. Through the exhibition 'STORT – man and the forest', visitors gain insight into how man has used the forest's resources throughout history.
Discover the hunting tower
A popular outdoor option is the museum’s hunting tower, where both children and adults can get a different perspective on nature. From the tower, children can look out over the landscape through special “binoculars” and get a sense of what it’s like to be a hunter on the lookout. It’s an experience that adds an extra dimension to understanding hunting and the importance of nature.
Meet the museum volunteers
During the autumn holidays, visitors can meet the museum's dedicated volunteers on most days, who share their personal experiences and knowledge about, for example, hunting, forests and nature. Both children and adults can chat with them and hear exciting stories. To see which days the different guilds are present, the museum's calendar can be checked on the website. In addition, there will be tastings of smoked game sausages, which will be served by the museum and give guests an authentic taste experience from the world of hunting.
An adventurous day for families
With free admission for children under 18 and an activity package for 30 kroner, the autumn holiday at Det Grønne Museum is an obvious choice for families who want a day of both activities and learning. There is something for all ages, and the activities are designed to arouse both curiosity and interest in the history of hunting.
For more information about the program and activities, interested parties can visit the museum's website.

In addition to the opportunity to shoot with a bow and arrow, the activity package also includes cresting, decorating the arrow to make it unique.
