Danish Country Hens
Danish Land Hens originally come from Asia and first came to Denmark around the Iron Age. Chicken bones have been found in an ash urn from the Iron Age, which indicates that the Land Hen was already domesticated at that time. Danish Land Hens were the only chicken breed in Denmark until the 19th century. A few decades ago, Danish Land Hens were rare, but today the breed has become popular among hobby breeders.
