The ELRO Foundation provides free access to experiences at The Green Museum and Gammel Estrup

A member of the museum's beer brewing guild talks about the historical beer brewing in connection with Living Saturday.
As part of the so-called ELRO days, there is free admission for everyone to The Green Museum and Gammel Estrup Denmark's Manor Museum on Saturday, September 2nd.
There is ample opportunity to have an exciting experience when the two museums at Norddurs invite you to a series of free experiences on the first Saturday in September.
At the Green Museum you can meet the museum's employees and volunteers during the day. You can also have the opportunity to try your hand at old skills and see how old crafts have been carried out and refined. For example, there will be beer brewing, rope making, bow production and the preparation of historical dishes, where there will of course be tastings. The museum's skilled professionals will also take guests on special tours during the day, where you can learn more about the old Danish breeds of farm animals or join a unique behind-the-scenes tour of the warehouses, which are normally closed to guests.
At Gammel Estrup you can meet several of the museum's many volunteers. For example, the seamstresses who sew historical costumes and textiles for the manor's halls and rooms, and the garden group who look after the museum's kitchen garden and convey the story of the self-sufficient manor, where you could previously get almost all the fruit and vegetables for the manor's large household on your own land. In the Manor Kitchen you can meet the housemaid, and buy yourself a piece of cake baked according to Gammel Estrup's 100-year-old recipes and a cup of coffee from Madam Blå. You can also join a tour with Gammel Estrup's volunteer guides and gain insight into Gammel Estrup's unique history.
The museums are open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, September 2, and admission is free all day.
