Christmas of All Time / Nov 20 – Dec 29 / Tue – Sun 10 am – 4 pm

Grab your family, get into the Christmas spirit and learn more about Christmas at The Green Museum
– We offer historical Christmas stories for all ages

You can experience these Christmas activities

All Museum open days (Tuesday – Sunday)

Explore the Green Museum's Christmas exhibition, where you can explore both inside and out and learn more about Christmas through the centuries.

Experience the history of Christmas in the Christmas exhibition

In the Christmas exhibition you can experience, read and listen to the fantastic story of old Christmas from the 18th century to the present day, meet the animals that have played an important role in Christmas throughout time or visit the winter garden, where the cabbage is ready with Christmas's winter vitamins.

Advent weekends with Christmas exhibition and Christmas tour

In the last three Advent weekends the museum is filled with the scent of Christmas. Follow the scent of cinnamon and cloves to our cozy gingerbread workshop, where both children and adults can decorate their own freshly baked honey hearts. For only 15 kr. you can unleash your creativity and take your honey heart home in a beautiful, old-fashioned shophouse.

As a special treat, on Sunday, December 15th, you can participate in our Christmas tour, which takes you deep into the mystery and history of Christmas. Hear about old superstitions and customs – why you weren’t allowed to go into the stable on Christmas Eve? What was the Yule Goat and how did it help bring the Christmas spirit into the home? And how did we go from a simple, traditional Christmas to the modern Christmas celebration with decorated trees and gifts? The tour lasts about an hour and starts at 11 am and again at 1:30 pm. We meet at Rudolf just inside the main entrance to the museum.
