Traditional Christmas market at the Green Museum

The Christmas market at the Green Museum is always a hit for the whole family.
The Christmas spirit spreads when The Green Museum invites you to this year's well-known Christmas market. As always, it takes place on the first weekend of Advent and is open both Saturday and Sunday.
With over 60 stalls, atmospheric Christmas activities and historical experiences, the museum is transformed into a true Christmas paradise, where both young and old can enjoy everything the Christmas season has to offer.
Cozy stalls and historical experiences
The Christmas market offers a wealth of stalls with handicrafts, woolen goods, ceramics, wooden goods and Christmas delicacies from both local and external exhibitors. Museum volunteers are on hand to demonstrate old crafts and offer tastings of historic Christmas recipes – all accompanied by Christmas music and the scent of freshly baked bread and fir.
Along the way, guests can explore the museum's Christmas exhibition, Christmas of all times, where you can experience the story of Christmas through the centuries both indoors and outdoors, meet the animals in the stable and visit the winter garden, where the cabbage stands with its healthy winter vitamins, ready for the dark time.
This year's news: Photo backdrops for Christmas photos
New this year, guests can take their own Christmas photo at one of the museum's two atmospheric photo backdrops, designed to capture the spirit of Christmas. With a nostalgic frame filled with Christmas decorations and a rustic background of fir trees and lights, families, friends and couples alike can take home a beautiful memory – perfect for this year's Christmas greeting!
Extra Christmas cheer for children and childlike souls
There are plenty of Christmas activities for the kids. On Saturday you can take part in the cream puff workshop and decorate your own cream puff, and on Sunday everyone is invited to a Christmas cut-and-paste workshop. On both days you can try the gingerbread workshop and the Futte train and the horse-drawn carriage ride run outdoors on both days, so the little ones can look forward to a cozy ride in the winter weather. Please note that there is a small fee for the gingerbread workshop, Futte, horse-drawn carriage ride and the cream puff workshop.
Christmas activities and practical information
The Christmas market is open both days from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to the Christmas market, guests have access to all the museum's exhibitions this weekend. But the blacksmith, tractor workshop and visitor magazine are also open, and here the museum's volunteers are ready to talk about and show off the old machines and crafts.
The Green Museum's Christmas market is a unique experience where Christmas traditions are combined with cultural history and cozy activities for the whole family - an ideal start to the Christmas season.
A day ticket costs 140 DKK for adults, while children under 18 have free entry. The ticket gives access to the Christmas market, all the museum's exhibitions and Gammel Estrup - Denmark's Manor Museum, which is located right next door.
