Randers Teater is delighted to present a unique collaboration with Det Grønne Museum in connection with our upcoming performance, “Frøken Jensen’s Cookbook.” The performance will premiere on August 29th and will bring the audience closer to the culinary heritage through both theater and food experiences.
We have entered into a close collaboration with museum curator and food historian Bettina Buhl, who is known for her in-depth knowledge of historical dishes. Bettina Buhl previously contributed to the TV2 series “Badehotellet” by ensuring that the culinary scenes were historically accurate. She recently made her debut as a TV host in TV2’s new cooking program, “Badehotellets Kokkeskole”, which further emphasizes her competences and communication skills.
In “Miss Jensen’s Cookbook”, Bettina Buhl has worked with director and playwright Martin Lyngbo to ensure that the culinary aspect of the performance is authentic and correct. Her contribution has been invaluable in the composition of the menu that the audience can purchase before the performance. This menu has been carefully selected to fit into the universe of the performance and provide a complete experience of the historical food culture.
Bettina Buhl's involvement in this project demonstrates not only her great professional skills, but also the Green Museum's commitment to promoting the understanding of cultural history through food. Her ability to convey historical knowledge about food culture in an exciting and vivid way is well known both from her work at the museum in Djursland and on national TV.
“Collaborating with Bettina Buhl and Det Grønne Museum has been a fantastic experience,” says theatre director Peter Westphael. “Her insight into historical food culture brings an extraordinarily authentic dimension to the performance, which we are sure will delight our audience. We look forward to sharing this unique theatre and food experience with you all.”
Director of the Green Museum, Anne Bjerrekær, is also happy about this new local collaboration between Randers Theatre and the Green Museum.
"The collaboration on this new play has been very fascinating; and is hopefully only the first of several future collaborations between Randers Teater and us. The fact that two cultural institutions come together in such a collaboration here only has winners all the way around," says Anne Bjerrekær.
We look forward to welcoming our audience to a performance that will not only enrich them with theatrical experiences, but also take them on a culinary journey back in time.
