Knowledge, research and collection

Our collection

The Green Museum's collection is everything that the museum has collected and received as gifts. These include objects, photographs, paintings, oral accounts recorded on tape and film, archives consisting of letters, diaries and much more.

The collection is not only what the audience sees, it is (also) the foundation for our research, dissemination and preservation of the history of hunting, forests, agriculture and food. And thus the story of the Danes' interaction with nature since the first people immigrated after the Ice Age.

The Green Museum's collections are registered in Museum Collections www.kulturarv.dk

Research

The Green Museum is a research institution under the Ministry of Culture. The museum is committed to researching and generating new knowledge about the history of hunting, forests, agriculture and food.

Collaboration and projects

The Green Museum is involved in a wide range of projects and collaborates with companies, committees and other branches of the research world. Among other things, the museum plays an active role in the conservation of the original Danish livestock breeds.

The museum is always open to new collaboration opportunities.
