A Saturday filled with tractors, horses and apples!

A nice old red tractor from a previous rally

One of the beautiful old tractors that participated in last year's event – also at the Green Museum

If you would like to experience a Saturday full of activities, you should stop by when the Green Museum opens its doors on Saturday, September 23, because a veritable furrow of exciting activities awaits in the area around the Polakhuset.

If you are interested in horsepower or plowing in all its forms, then it is an obvious choice to visit the Green Museum on Saturday, September 23, because there you will be able to experience both horses and tractors unfolding in the beautiful nature from early morning to late afternoon.

As early as 10:00 AM, the Motor and Tractor Club of Jutland (MTKJ) will start their club championships in plowing in the fields at the Green Museum.

They compete in several different classes and their championships last until 4 p.m.

In addition to their club championships, they will also, in collaboration with Østjysk Køreselskab, demonstrate horse-drawn plowing and offer the opportunity to travel around the field by horse-drawn carriage.

Two men working with the threshing machine

The Green Museum's volunteers are also ready to demonstrate the old crafts on the day.

The Green Museum volunteers also show up

But in addition, the Green Museum has many exciting activities during the day, from the museum opening at 10 am until the event ends at 4 pm.

To start from the beginning, the museum's Karle- og Pigelaug is active out at the historic fields on the day. Here you can see them working with the large threshing machine, and true to tradition, they will be standing again this year selling pancakes and coffee at the historic fields in the event area.

The Museum's Tractor Workshop will also be present near the fields and the Polakhuset, where they will display tractors and engines.

In addition, the museum's volunteers are also inside the Polakhuset, where they offer tastings of Richs' substitute coffee and a historic Polish beetroot soup.

The museum's brewers' guild will also be present on the day, where they will be ready with tastings of their historic beer brewing and a good chat about the noble art of beer brewing. At the same time, the seasoned blacksmiths will also be present in their old forge, where they stand and work by an open fire.

Buy historical apple tree varieties

Finally, there is also a unique opportunity to buy an apple tree outside the convention area. The museum's gardening team is ready with 1-year and 2-year apple trees from 25 special Danish varieties. Here you can also get a taste of some of the different apple types, so you can make sure that it is the right apple tree for eating or cooking that you are taking home to your own garden.

On the Green Museum's website you can find a list of the apple tree varieties sold on the day.

All of this, as well as of course the regular exhibitions of both the Green Museum and the Gammel Estrup Danish Manor Museum, can be experienced once you have purchased a ticket to the museums.

In addition, you can also choose to 'only' buy tickets for the Motor and Tractor Club of Jutland championships, and the activities that take place around the fields on the day - tickets for this are purchased directly from MTKJ down by the fields and close to the pole house on the day and cost 50 kroner.
