We are pleased to announce our participation in the nationwide pilot project “More water in the system.” This initiative, supported by a grant of more than 1 million kroner from the Augustinus Foundation, brings together archives, museums and libraries to document Danes’ reactions to climate change.

The project, which will start in mid-2024, will explore how climate change affects our everyday lives and social structures, with a particular focus on the increased water volumes that are a direct consequence of climate change.

Anne Bjerrekær, Director of The Green Museum, says: “The Green Museum is delighted to be part of ‘More Water in the System’. A groundbreaking initiative that brings together Danish cultural heritage and conservation institutions in a joint effort to address the challenges of the climate crisis. This project highlights the importance of collaborating across disciplines to document and understand the profound impacts that climate change is having on our society. By directly involving local communities, we ensure that the experiences and reactions gathered are authentic and representative of Danes’ experience of this global challenge.”

The project represents a unique collaboration between some of Denmark's leading institutions within cultural heritage and conservation, and we look forward to sharing our progress and results with you.
