The spiral was a favorite and natural motif. It symbolizes change and growth and is worn as an amulet for fertility, vitality and renewal.
Right turn = energy charging, left turn = energy discharging.
Spirals are found, for example, on a pendant from Satakunta/Finland, exhibited at the National Museum of Finland.
