Christmas atmosphere and historic Christmas market at The Green Museum

With over 60 stalls, there is something for everyone.
As we approach the first Sunday of Advent, The Green Museum at Auning on Djursland is transformed into an atmospheric Christmas universe.
On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November from 10am to 4pm, the museum invites you to its traditional Christmas market, which attracts thousands of guests from near and far every year.
Something for every taste
More than 60 stalls fill the museum's indoor and outdoor areas - with handicrafts, Christmas decorations, delicacies, wool, ceramics, wooden goods, cookies, jewelry and much more. The emphasis is on Danish quality, local crafts and goods that both decorate and taste like Christmas. Several of the museum's volunteers participate with their own products, and you can experience old crafts in live communication.
”"The Christmas market is one of the big events of the year here at the museum. It is cozy, local and rich in tradition - and at the same time, guests can feel the whisper of history in the surroundings and in the exhibitions," says the Christmas market coordinator, Lone Christensen.
Lots of Christmas spirit
The Christmas atmosphere spreads with Christmas music, fir trees, lights and scents. This year you can also take your own Christmas card photo at the museum's special photo backdrop, and on both days there will be cozy and child-friendly activities for the little ones - something that makes the Christmas market a great family trip.
Once the entrance fee is paid, you have access to the entire museum, including the popular Christmas exhibition Alletiders Jul, which tells about Christmas traditions in Denmark over the past 300 years.
Also enjoy the atmospheric exhibitions
You can also experience the exhibition Under the Sun, where we take a close look at the last 80 years of the pursuit of the good life in Denmark - a relevant and thought-provoking exhibition that puts our Christmas food and traditions in a larger perspective.
Since The Green Museum shares tickets with the neighboring museum Gammel Estrup Denmark's Manor Museum, you get two museums for the price of one ticket.
It all takes place in beautiful surroundings at Gl. Estrup on Djursland – and with free parking, free admission for children and young people under 18, lots of stalls and a historic Christmas atmosphere, a weekend is planned where both young and old can find the joy of Christmas.
