A Saturday filled with activities, tractors and apples!

Ploughing

The club championship is being fought for.

Saturday, September 17th is full of activities. When the Green Museum opens its doors that day, there will be a veritable flurry of exciting activities in the area around the Polakhuset.

Because at 8:30 am, the Motor and Tractor Club of Jutland (MTKJ) will start their club championships in plowing in the fields at the Green Museum.

They compete in several different classes and their championships last until 4 p.m.

In addition to their club championships, they will also, in collaboration with Østjysk køreselskab, demonstrate horse-drawn plowing and offer the opportunity to travel around the field by horse-drawn carriage.

But in addition, we also have many exciting activities from the Green Museum on the day, from the museum opening at 10 am until the event ends at 4 pm.

To start from the beginning, the museum's Karle- and Pigelaug is active out at the historic fields during the day.

The great threshing floor

The men's and women's guild works at the threshing floor.

Here you can see them working with the large threshing machine, and you can also be allowed to thresh with a flail yourself.

You can also try your hand at old-fashioned rope-making or help press mini straw bales.

The Museum's Tractor Workshop will also be present near the fields and the Polakhuset, where they will display tractors and engines.

In addition, our volunteers are also inside the Polakhuset, where they offer tastings of Richs' substitute coffee and a historic vegetable soup.

Finally, there is also a unique opportunity to buy an apple tree. The garden team has 1-year-old and 2-year-old apple trees from some special Danish varieties ready. Here you can also get a taste of some of the different apple types, so you can make sure that it is the right apple tree for eating or cooking that you are taking home to your own garden.

In the coming days, a list of the apple tree varieties sold on our website will be available.

Finally, you can also buy pancakes in the area during the day.

All of this, as well as of course our regular exhibitions, can be experienced once you have purchased a ticket to the museum.

In addition, you can also choose to 'only' buy tickets for MTKJ's championships, and the activities that take place around the fields on the day - tickets for this can be purchased from MTKJ down by the fields and close to the pole house on the day.

You can read more about MTKJ's championship and initiatives on the day. here.
