Director Anne Bjerrekær stands in one of the museum's exhibitions

Director Anne Bjerrekær hopes for the help of the Danes to create the perfect exhibition

This week's report, Kirsten Hüttemeier's protective sleeves and hoses from a slurry tanker. It's not a recipe for an Olsen gang heist, but some of the objects that The Green Museum is looking for for a new exhibition about human use and impact on nature from 1950 to the present day.

The museum has national responsibility for the cultural history of food, agriculture, forestry and hunting. These themes are therefore the focal point of the story, and the exhibition examines whether knowledge of the past can help provide answers to how we can create a more balanced future.

Unique signature exhibition about the Danes' use of nature
The upcoming exhibition, "Danish History 1950 – NOW", will be the Green Museum's first major signature exhibition and will play a central role in defining the museum's profile for many years to come. The exhibition will show how we as humans have influenced and used nature over the past 75 years.

But the exhibition is not just about the past. We live in a time when the planet is under pressure from the climate and biodiversity crisis and a growing population, all of whom want to live the best possible life. Therefore, the exhibition should also provide an opportunity to reflect on the future and the possibilities for creating a better balance between human needs and the survival of nature.

The museum hopes that the exhibition will create understanding for both others' and our own choices, and reinforce the belief that we can make a difference. If we want to.

The museum is missing key objects
“We need help! Creating an exhibition about the last 75 years is not easy – many of the things that have been a normal part of our everyday lives have already been thrown away. In order for the exhibition to be complete, we need the help of Danes to find them. That is why we are trying this perhaps slightly unconventional invitation to go hunting in the caches and help us tell the story.” says Anne Bjerrekær, director of the Green Museum.
