Feeding rounds, volunteers and family experiences during the summer holidays<\/h3>\n

It is always popular to join the daily feeding round.<\/p><\/div>\n

On June 27, the summer holidays kick off at the Green Museum in Auning, where children and adults can join the feeding rounds every day, try out the summer activities, get a taste of history and explore the museum's large exhibitions and outdoor area.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout the summer, the museum invites guests to a daily feeding tour among the animals. Here, museum employees talk about the work of preserving the old Danish breeds and their importance to Danish agriculture throughout history, while guests experience the animals in their surroundings. The number of places is limited, and interest is usually high among both children and adults.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The summer holidays are an ideal opportunity to experience the museum, when there is extra life both outside and inside. Here, guests can join in on the feeding rounds, meet our many volunteers and try some of the summer's special activities such as archery and climbing the climbing column. We want to give families experiences where you can be together, learn more and have something to talk about on the way home, says Maria Berg Briese, Head of Communication at The Green Museum.<\/p>\n

Activities for the whole family<\/h4>\n

There are activities for both young and old around the museum. Children can try working with leather and try their hand at simple techniques and materials from past crafts. Along the way, they create their own little souvenir to take home.<\/p>\n

In the outdoor areas, the family can explore the museum's children's Polakhus, where children can play and gain an insight into life as a Polish farmworker family. There is also the opportunity to try stilt walking, challenge each other in tic-tac-toe or explore the children's hunting tower. If the weather is bad, there are wonderful activity opportunities in the indoor playground 'B\u00f8rnenes G\u00e5rd'.<\/p>\n

Every day, guests can also taste a Danish interpretation of hummus made with Danish peas, local vegetables and spices. The tasting focuses on sustainability and plant protein and ties in with one of the themes in the exhibition. Under the Sun<\/em>: how food cultures and ingredients from around the world have influenced the way we eat today.<\/p>\n

During the summer, guests can meet some of the museum's many volunteers who keep history alive. In the Visitor's Magazine, stories from the collections are told, in the Tractor Workshop, people work with historic machinery, and in the historic Polakhus, you can hear stories about life as a Polish farm worker. There will also be the opportunity to taste pancakes with berry compote made from berries from the museum's own gardens.<\/p>\n

High in the air and accurate hits<\/h4>\n

Every afternoon during the summer holidays, there is an extra activity. Some days, guests can try their hand at archery, while on other days it is possible to climb the museum's popular climbing column. Both activities are offered for a small additional fee. The activities provide an insight into some of the skills and tasks that have historically been associated with hunting and working in the forest.<\/p>\n

Children and young people under 18 have free admission to the museum, and the ticket is also valid for the neighboring museum. Gammel Estrup Denmark's Manor House Museum<\/a>. This means there is ample opportunity for a full day of experiences for the whole family on Djursland.<\/p>\n
