Take a seat at the table and let the aroma of artichokes, roast veal and diplomat pudding take you back in time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2025, The Green Museum, in collaboration with Restaurant Den Gamle Stald, has embarked on a new series of historical dinners. This time based on the popular TV2 series \u201cBadehotellet\u201d. The menu and stories have been carefully put together by our own food historian, Bettina Buhl, who as historical food consultant on the series 'Badehotellet' has had a very special insight into the culinary universe of the 1920s and 1930s.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to invite our guests to an authentic experience where food and stories go hand in hand. At Badehotellerne, food was not just a necessity, but an experience for both body and soul.\u201d<\/em><\/span>

The Roaring 1920s and the Troubled 1930s<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first dinner in the series will take place on February 28<\/strong> (6:00 PM\u20139:00 PM). Here we focus on the period from the exuberant \u201croaring twenties\u201d to the more troubled 1930s.<\/p>\n

The menu<\/strong>:
\nPhased artichokes
\nRoast veal in vin blanc with pomsaute and stuffed tomatoes
\nDiplomat pudding<\/p>\n

Along the way, you can look forward to vivid stories about:
\nHow food was prepared for the \u201cbetter bourgeoisie\u201d at the seaside hotels
\nThe love of the sea and the healthy life by the coast back then
\nThe historical events that created contrast between the festive lifestyle of the 1920s and the more troubled tone of the 1930s<\/p>\n

The dark period of occupation and liberation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second dinner is being held on May 4<\/strong> (6:00 PM\u20139:00 PM), which in 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Denmark's liberation. The menu has not yet been announced, but Bettina Buhl will reveal how Danish seaside hotels \u2013 and cuisine in general \u2013 coped with the challenges of the war.<\/p>\n
