One of the big news this year is the opportunity to climb to the top in connection with the expansion of the exhibition STORT \u2013 Man and the Forest.<\/p><\/div>\n

There are new activities, the opportunity to climb high like a top climber, an expansion of the exhibition BIG and a reunion with some of the audience favorites from previous winter holidays when The Green Museum opens its doors for the 2025 season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take the family to the Green Museum on Djursland during the winter holidays and delve into the fascinating stories of the forest. This year you can make a fun and sustainable bird feeder cone, see a new expansion of the forest exhibition and climb to the top of the museum's virtual forest in the exhibition STORT.<\/p>\n

Make a bird feeder cone
\n<\/strong>One of this year's new features is the opportunity to make your very own bird feeder cone. It's a fun activity for the whole family, where everyone can help create a sustainable addition to the birdlife at home. And of course, you get to take your finished creation home to your garden or balcony.<\/p>\n

A new perspective on the history of the forest worker
\n<\/strong>The indoor forest exhibition, STORT \u2013 Man and the Forest, has been expanded with a new story, TREE CLIMBING, which is about the work of forest workers in the treetops, harvesting cones and seeds, pruning branches and felling trees.<\/p>\n

The exhibition itself is a magnificent journey through the forest's history in Denmark, where you can experience the most significant objects and gain insight into how the forest was almost wiped out around 1800, but was restored through targeted, long-term planning.<\/p>\n

Along the way, you can see, among other things, the largest forestry machines in the museum's collection towering under an 800 square meter animated ceiling, which in 15 minutes changes through an entire day with birdsong, forestry work and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the many interactive elements, films, objects and challenges invite you to explore and experience the grandeur of the forest for yourself.<\/p>\n

The sustainable bird feeder cones are quick and easy to make \u2013 and of course you get to take them home.<\/p><\/div>\n

Do you dare to try your hand at the work of a forester high up in the trees? The museum is presenting a new climbing column, where you can climb up wearing professional climbing equipment and experience a virtual forest from above. The activity requires a user fee, and as there are limited places, you can secure a place now by Pre-order and reserve your time here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Also experience the well-known forest activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the new initiatives, there is plenty of opportunity to try out the classic favorites from last year's program. You can compete in throwing pins at a challenging target and try your hand at the great game of turning, which requires both memory and cooperation. At the cubic meter block, you can unleash your creativity with an entire cubic meter of wood and discover how much such an amount of wood actually holds when you build and create your own constructions. Throughout the exhibition, you will find fun tasks and facts in the museum's activity booklet, which children and adults can solve together.<\/p>\n

Practical information<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Green Museum opens for the winter holidays on Saturday, February 8th at 10 am, and all activities will take place in the expanded forest exhibition STORT. The museum is responsible for the cultural history of Denmark's forests, hunting, agriculture and food, and there are activities for all ages. Young people under 18 have free admission, and your ticket to the Green Museum also gives you access to the neighboring museum Gammel Estrup Denmark's Manor House Museum.<\/a><\/p>\n
