You may have found an old tool, machine or book from your stash or out in the old barn. And maybe you think it could be something for the Green Museum?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If so, we would like to hear from you. The Green Museum deals with agriculture, food, hunting and the history of the forest, and therefore only accepts objects within these areas. We are regularly offered objects, and since we already have over 77,000 of them in our warehouses, we unfortunately usually have to say no.<\/p>\n

We do not accept items and books without prior agreement. First, you must write an email to the following email address: samling@dgmuseum.dk<\/a><\/p>\n

In your email, you must include the following:
\n1) Pictures of the objects and\/or books.<\/p>\n

2) Name of the objects. What is it called? Is it a specific model of tool or machine?<\/p>\n

3) Description of the items: how are they used, where were they made and used, and who owned them? We usually only accept items where we have information about their personal history.<\/p>\n

4) What condition is the item in? We usually only accept items in reasonable condition.<\/p>\n

5) If it is a book, we also need information about the title, author, year of publication and edition.<\/p>\n

When we receive your email, we will acknowledge it and subsequently the professional staff will decide whether the objects are relevant to the museum.<\/p>\n

We need all of the above information so that we can conduct a professional examination and assessment of the objects. We must, among other things, examine what we already have and how the objects may fit into our collections. This often requires us to conduct a closer examination of what types of objects they are. We may also contact you with further questions.<\/p>\n

It may therefore take a while to evaluate one or more items. Therefore, expect a response time of approximately one month.<\/p>\n

If we would like the objects to be added to our collections, we will contact you to arrange a transfer. A transfer involves, among other things, that you sign that the museum will have full ownership of the objects.<\/p>\n

This means, among other things, that the museum has the right to separate the objects from our collections and use them for dissemination purposes.<\/p>\n

When we, as a museum, add objects to our collections, we do so primarily because we believe they are important cultural heritage that should be preserved for posterity. Only a small percentage of our objects are exhibited.
