Summer holiday experiences at The Green Museum

Summer holiday activities for children and adults

We have packed the summer with great experiences for all ages and provided space for summer holiday activities for both children and adults, big arm movements and quiet contemplation in our large outdoor areas at The Green Museum at Gammel Estrup.

This year we also invite you inside our new large signature exhibition Under the Sun, where the summer's big holiday activity awaits. Here the whole family can explore 80 years of Danish history, told through hunting, forests, agriculture and food - and at the same time experience fun and educational activities with both taste, knowledge and play.

SUMMER HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR: Experience the summer Under the Sun!

Throughout the summer holidays, The Green Museum offers exciting experiences for the whole family – and this time based on our new, large exhibition. Under the Sun – A story about the last 80 years of chasing the good life.

Booking takes place on the day at the climbing column.

The summer holiday program is valid from Saturday, June 28th to Sunday, August 10th.

Enjoy summer both indoors and outdoors

Summer is the perfect time to visit and learn about our old Danish breeds of farm animals. Our animals come in almost every size – from the smallest honeybees to the largest cows – and they are always a hit with both children and adults.

If it's a rainy day or just a light shower, our 6,000 m² indoor exhibitions are of course also open. Here, you can explore the world of plant breeding in GULDKORN, experience life in the farming community – and step under the digital forest sky in our large exhibition STORT.

The hopefully good summer weather also provides a fantastic opportunity to enjoy our outdoor exhibition "The Agricultural Botanical Garden", where we have over 400 different types of apple trees, 80 different types of rhubarb, different types of cabbage, legumes, berries, culinary herbs, summer flowers and much more.

All year round, this living exhibition (and conservation center) is a very special experience, as the weather and seasons ensure that there is something new to see – every time you visit the garden.

We are open every day throughout the summer from 10 am to 5 pm. The price is 160 DKK for adults and free for young people under 18, and this year's summer activity only costs 20 DKK once you have paid for admission.

The ticket also gives access to Gammel Estrup Denmark's Manor House Museum.
