The history of food in our food museum

The Green Museum's Food Museum explores Danish food and agricultural history through eight permanent exhibitions.

From Neolithic farming to modern food culture, the exhibitions include everything from historic kitchens and agricultural machinery to interactive stories about slaughterhouses and the dairy industry. The exhibitions provide an in-depth insight into the development of food production and the eating habits of Danes through the ages.

The Green Museum's forest museum

“STORT – Man and the Forest” offers a fascinating exploration of the role of forests in Danish history. The exhibition delves into the importance and development of forests from near total extinction around 1800 to modern forestry that focuses on sustainability and biodiversity.

With interactive elements such as forestry machinery, animated forest skies and physical activities, guests of all ages are invited to learn about the forest's ancient monuments, its role in climate change and much more through both objects and educational stories.
